These past few days my main focus has been trying to find a job for this summer. I had been relying on getting an internship with the Department of Social Services, but once that didn't work out, I was kind of worried. I have been applying for several other jobs, mostly computer related. I have applied at RadioShack, where I thought I was going to get a job, but then found out that they probably can't hire anyone til August. Oh well, I didn't really want to work only 15-20 hours a week at $5.25 an hour. I have also applied at Ace Hardware and Coborn's, neither of which I have heard back from. Recently, I applied at the Plainsman, our local paper, to be a typist, and the courthouse, where I would work with the Director of Equilization measuring buildings and other random tasks.
Today was an interesting day for my job hunt. Sara gave me a call about one o'clock and told me that her mom heard about a job that would be full time this summer working at a place that makes honey. It's kind of weird, but I will probably give them a call sometime tomorrow. It's really strange because Sara's mom is trying really hard to find a job for me, but I do appreciate it. Also, I looked on Job Service's website today and found a listing for a Computer Clerk, and the description sounded perfect for me. I went down to the office right away to get an application, and then went home and filled it out. I told my grandma about the job, and she said she would try to call someone over there and put in a good word for me. My grandma knows EVERYONE, but it has its benefits, hehe. So after I got the application filled out I got all dressed up and took it to the office, where I basically just handed it to a lady and left. The job closing date is May 18th, so I'll probably have to wait til then to find anything out.
