Weekend of the 4th

July 04, 2005 at 3:08 p.m.
So here is just a short recap of my weekend so far.

Friday, Christina and I went on a bike ride after I got off work, it was the perfect weather to do so. We rode to Alex's house, then to Sara's house, then all the way down by Memorial Park, and finally up Highway 14 then down Dakota, past the movie theater where we saw Amy, then back to my house. After that, we went to random fireworks stands and then proceeded out to Kyle's house, where Tina, Alex, Kyle, and I shot lots of fireworks and didn't even die. Kyle's goal of the night was to blow up a soup can, which he finally accomplished by placing an artillery shell upside down on the ground with the can over it. The explosion was quite the sight, hehe.

On Saturday, I had to get up somewhat early to go play in the munincipal band for the 4th of July parade. We had to play all during the parade and then in the bandshell after the parade was over. The weather was quite nice, so that made it not so bad. That night, Amy and I decided to go watch the fireworks at the races, and if you want to read about that ordeal, you can check out Amy's blog here.

On Sunday, our family went to my grandparents' church in Hitchcock because they had just gotten a new pastor, and he was really good. After church, we went to my grandma's house and had dinner and all that good stuff. Sunday night, I decided to go out to the lake and hang out at Jeff and Shelly McGirr's cabin (my boss and also Sara's uncle). I rode on the jetski with Chris and Kayla, and we played some croquet and then shot off a lot of fireworks. The few cabins around us, including the McGirr's, definately had the best fireworks of the night.

Today, I finally got to sleep in for once, and it was awesome. I was briefly awakened at 10:45 from a text message by Kate, and also at 11:15 by a phone call from Amy, but I fell back asleep and didn't get up til 1:45pm. It felt amazing!!

Later tonight I plan to go to Garet's house and hang out with him, Mindy, and Amy i think. It should be a good time, and I've only been to Garet's house once before.

So there is my update on my weekend events for all of you people who are out of state, Kate in Pennsylvania, Tina and Kyle in D.C., and Sara in Minneapolis. I will more than likely have another update before Tina gets back on around the 10th or 11th, so stay tuned.

On one last note, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JUSTINE!!!!!!
