Since college is coming up in less than a week, I have been thinking a lot about money lately, and I'm sure most people reading this have been too. It seems so ridiculous to me that so much of our lives have to be spent worrying about financial issues. Now, I know that I am much better off than millions, if not billions of people in this world, but I still think about it constantly. In just over a week, I have to write out a check for $1500 just to be able to go to school for a semester, not counting the other thousands of dollars I already have out in loans. I have worked 35 hours a week all summer, and all I have earned is just a little bit more than enough to pay for school. I have no idea how I will pay for next semester, but it will probably involve loans. Having all this debt just for a decent eduation angers me so much sometime that I wonder if school is really worth that much. It may sound silly, but if I would win the lottery, that would solve most of the problems that I have in life and take away a lot of my concerns. There have been numerous occasions where I have spent quite a while just dreaming of everything I would do with the millions of dollars I would get by winning the lottery. The fact that I have to worry so much about these financial matters drives me insane, and I wish that I could just get rid of these thoughts somehow, either by winning the lottery, or by lowering my ideal future life and accepting that I may be stuck in South Dakota and poor for the rest of my life.
Now, I know this entry has been quite different than my previous ones, where I have just talked about what I have been up to lately or what I will be doing soon, but I thought it needed a change. Hopefully I will be able to add more entries in the future that actually involve some thought and how I am feeling about the world, and this was a good start I believe.
By the way, if you happen to know what the winning lottery numbers will be, please be sure to let you know, and I will reward you handsomely.
