As I sit here and ponder the meaning of life on a very comfortable leather sofa, I decided to update this blog. I figure that someday I should come up with some theories on the subconscience meanings of the movie "Napoleon Dynamite" or which came first, the chicken or the egg. But for now, you shall just get an update on the past fews days.
My job at CreditSoup as a Network Administrator has been going quite well, and I think it will be a good experience for me. For now, all I basically do is go through the reported spam email and make sure that it is actually spam, and if it's not, then forward it to the person. It may sound like a trivial job for a "network admin," but it is actually more complicated than you may think. I just can't wait til I finally get a paycheck so I can seriously think about buying an ipod.
Yesterday was the big marching band competition in sufu, and it was awesome. Huron's show was pretty decent I thought, although they need to do a lot of work for the next competitions. They decided to have 12 bands compete at finals that night instead of the usual 10, and they were all awesome. The band from Spirit Lake, Iowa played music from the musical "Wicked," which was just about the coolest thing I've ever seen. Both Tina and I were freaking out the whole performance. It was a little strange to hear that music from a marcing band, but it was still great. The color guard was dressed in outfits that were half green and half black, and they also had some big signs from Wicked that were really cool. We left the competition right before they announced the results because we wanted to try to beat the rush, but we found out that Waseca did not win the competition, which they have done every year since 1998. Instead, a band from Rosemount, who I think were new to the competition, won. Their show was about mazes, and they had a huge tarp-type thing that they put out on the field that looked like a maze. Their show was quite unique and really good. Overall, I was very impressed by the whole deal, except for my nice windburn on my face from the uber windiness of the day.
It was nice coming home this weekend since I hadn't been back in 3 weeks. I got to see a few of my high school friends and sleep in my own bed again, which rocked. That is about all I have to write for now. Goodbye
