After waking up from trying to nap while people watch "Armageddeon" in my room and before studying for an Object Oriented Design test that I have tomorrow, I have decided that it is about time I update this blog.
My roommate, Matt Paulson, whose link is to your left, has recently written a article about the worthlessness of an education major. He basically says that college professors don't need education degrees to teach because it is assumed that if they have their masters or doctorate in that field, they must know it enough to teach it to others. Why then must elementary and secondary teachers receive degrees to "teach" material that is far easier than college-level material? The article really makes a lot of sense to me and causes me to wonder about some things, but oh well. If you don't like it, you are entitled to your own opinion too. That's really about all I have to say about that issue.
This past weekend was definately one of the BEST I have ever had. Tina came down to Madison for the whole weekend, and it was a great time. Friday night we watched the movie Office Space, as Tina hadn't ever seen it, which surprised me very much. After that, I got her playing this online game called MapleStory, which I had started playing earlier in the week. The game is very, very addicting, and we played it til 2:30 in the morning. If you want to check it out, click here
On Saturday we went down to Vermillion for the marching band show in the dome with my mom, and I was completely blown away by the performances of Brandon Valley, Marshall, MN, and Sioux Falls Lincoln. They were completely amazing, and if you were not there, you definately missed out. After we left Vermillion, we stopped in Sioux Falls to eat at the mall and shop at Old Navy. I bought a very fuzzy fleece sweatshirt, and Tina got a new pea coat which looks extremely good on her. :) We then went back to Madison and played MapleStory as well as watch another movie.
Sunday morning Tina went to church with me and my friends, and she found it really enjoyable. Since she is a Catholic and hasn't hardly experienced many other services besides Mass, it was definately a change. We attend West Center Baptist Church in Madison, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and fun there. After church we all ate in the TC and then went back to my room and watched some TV and played MapleStory yet again.
That was pretty much all that happened this weekend, and I loved every minute of it. I suppose I had better get studying for my test tomorrow, as I have heard that most people generally fail the first test in that class, but I think I might have to run to Jubilee first so I can satisfy my very strong urge for Cheetos. :D :D
